Sure, we
mentioned it before the holidays, but it bears repeating: the
Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit has opened a full-service cafe that serves coffee drinks, sandwiches, soups and salads in the center of the warehouse-like space.
The cafe is organic-leaning and uses Michigan Green Safe products (look, Ma, no plastic!) for its food and beverage service. It offers wi-fi and various books and magazines for patrons to peruse.
MOCAD is currently showing two exhibits:
ReFusing Fashion: Rei Kawabuko, which includes clothing and photography by the elusive Japanese designer, and Alex Melamid's Holy Hip Hop, a collection of rap artists painted in an old-master style.
Hours for the museum and cafe are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m Wednesday through Sunday, and 11 a.m. to 8
p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
