15 penthouse units going in at Willys Overland Lofts in Midtown

The fourth- and fifth-floor penthouses at Willys Overland Lofts have been framed in. Bob Slattery of Midtown Development says that the windows will be installed over the next few months and balconies in approximately four. Garages are being constructed and roof and interior wall work has commenced.

Willys includes 15 penthouse units, 60 units in the existing building and 7,000 square feet of potential commercial space that fronts Willis just west of Avalon Bakery.

Slattery points out that, within just a few blocks of Willys, there are almost 120 planned residential units. While this large number may mean slower initial sales for any one development, he says that, for the “overall health of the neighborhood, it signals strong continuation.”

Phase 2 of Willys will develop the 52,000 square-foot Canfield-facing portion of the building. Slattery says the mixture of commercial to residential for that phase will be determined by sales in the first.

More information about the development can be found here.
