Barden Building
Grand Valley State University purchased the Barden Building on Madison St. in early 2012 from Waycor Development Company, the real estate arm of the late business mogul Don Barden's family of businesses. GVSU purchased the building for $3 million and will spend another $3 million renovating the 1908 building into a charter school office for its 24 area charter schools and bringing it up to ADA code.
