City Bird finds a nest of its own on W. Canfield in Midtown

City Bird's handmade urbane wares are currently scattered around town, found at Pure Detroit, Bureau of Urban Living, Detroit Artists Market, MOCAD and Local 1253 at the Inside Detroit Welcome Center. But in short time, the city-themed goods, designed and crafted by siblings Andy and Emily Linn, will be made and sold at the duo's new studio and retail space at the Canfield Lofts on W. Canfield between Cass and Second.

Emily Linn says plans are for the retail space to open at the end of October with a grand opening event sometime in November. Expansion of the City Bird line necessitated the move to a home base, she says, as products are being constructed at three different in-home studios. The new space also will enable the Linns to carry goods from other local and Midwestern artists and designers, including clothing, jewelry, paper goods and housewares.

Do not fear, City Bird products will continue to be sold at neighbor Bureau as well as all other previously mentioned retail outlets.
