Downtown's Rags expands with Greenbliss, a sustainable design center

Bliss Cureton co-owns RAGS, a downtown clothing boutique, with her brother. Adding to the entrepreneurial mix at the corner of Grand River and Broadway, the sister half of the duo has started up GreenBliss, a company that carries sustainable products and offers energy consulting, design and construction services. "I have a sincere passion for the green movement and a sincere passion for retail," says Cureton. "GreenBliss combines them both."

With RAGS as its showroom, GreenBliss products on display include Blomus grow pots, a portable fireplace made from recycled steel, teak coffee and end tables, a solar-powered backpack and organic treats for cats and dogs. There is also a GreenBliss non-toxic, all-natural all-purpose cleaner that is available and, in the realm of green building, services include energy audits, cabinetry made from reclaimed wood, bamboo flooring and low-flow faucets.

GreenBliss is gearing up for its second annual Earth Day Celebration, which will be held on April 22 and 23. More information on the event can be found here or call 313-575-8614.

In the meantime, RAGS continues to offer its mix of men's and women's fashion. It's located at 1376 Broadway. Contact GreenBliss at 800-378-2439.
