Lafayette Plaza news: Boxseat Video adds dry cleaning service, grocer on target to open in August

Lafayette Park dwellers will gain another service when Boxseat Video debuts a dry-cleaning pick-up and drop-off service. Clothes will be serviced by Quality Cleaners of Royal Oak, named the best dry cleaners in Metro Detroit by Hour Detroit in 2002 and 2003.

Clothes will be shuttled between the two locations every three or four days. The service is scheduled to debut on June 1.

Although there have been construction delays on the Downtown Foodland originally scheduled to open this spring, it will now open in August, according to Beverly Lyons, a spokeswoman for First Commercial Realty & Development, the property's owner.
