Planned Parenthood increases visibility by relocating to Stuberstone

Planned Parenthood's new Midtown digs on Cass at Willis aren't far from where they've been located for some time -- they're just bigger and better.

The Mid and South Michigan Planned Parenthood chapter's new headquarters in the Stuberstone Lofts building is more than twice the size of their 3,000-square-foot former office/clinic on Woodward near Peterboro, and it is arranged in a manner more conducive to the organization's operations. It has enough space for administrative functions as well as a health center.

CEO Lori Lamerand cites the building's aesthetics, location on a bus line and proximity to Wayne State University as positives to their new location. "We're really excited to about being a part of the real fabric of this community," she says. "We think this complements and coincides with what else is happening in the area."

The office offers well exams, family planning services and full spectrum of testing. The clinic has four full-time caregivers who are licensed mid-level practitioners (i.e., nurse practitioner, midwife and physician's assistant). Lamerand expects that number to grow.
