Utrecht, Radio Shack, coffee shop to locate in new Studio One apartment building on Woodward

Studio One Apartments has leased 60% -- 18,000 square feet -- of its ground-floor retail space on Woodward in Midtown.

On the Forest-facing side of the building, Utrecht Art Supply will occupy 4,000 square feet. Radio Shack (2,200 square feet), a coffee shop (2,000 square feet) and a Fifth-Third Bank branch and lending office (9,800 square feet) will front Woodward.

One- and two-bedroom models of the apartments are now open for viewing. Forty-four percent have been leased sight-unseen. Marcel Burgler, principal with Prime Development characterizes the building's tenant mix as "young professionals." They include an engineer from Ford Motor Company, employees from Henry Ford Hospital and Compuware, Wayne State University graduate and medical students as well as people who work in the suburbs and will enjoy the benefits of a reverse commute.

Half of the units will be ready for move-in on June 1, the remainder on July 1.  They feature 9-foot-by-9-foot windows, balconies and amenities such as granite countertops and efficient tankless hot water heaters. Tenant parking is in an attached structure, while the landscaped rear courtyard will provide parking for retail shoppers.
