The Union apartments bring modern living options to WSU campus

Promising granite countertops and a flat screen TV in every unit, The Union at Midtown, located on Cass Ave. between Hancock and Warren, is currently accepting leases. What's more, the brand new-development has already sold out its 484 sq. ft. studios, three-bedroom apartments and four-bedroom apartments for the Fall 2011 opening.

"Technically, this is a late lease-up market," says General Manager Jackie Carson. "The university hasn't come out with prices yet for their residence halls and apartments, so to be sold out of several floorplans already is promising."

The upscale, completely furnished apartments, which feature electronic security, have wood-type flooring, in-unit washers and dryers, energy-efficient appliances and green building practices.

"We have a fitness center and a computer lab for residents that will be available free of charge," Carson says. "There will be a social room, where residents can chill out, play gaming systems, and that's where we'll host resident events." The Union will even have a Residence Life Director, who will be located on-site to manage the social atmosphere of The Union. Think an RA for apartment living.

Though the all-inclusive apartments have received much interest from Wayne State's student population, Carson says the new rental allowance for WSU, DMC and Henry Ford employees has also brought new potential residents through the door.

The Union at Midtown is a joint project from several local developers.

Prices begin at $945, including utilities, for a one-bedroom apartment. Go here or call 313-989-1690 for more information.
