Walbridge's rehab of its One Kennedy Square office space earns LEED silver certification

On June 5, Walbridge received the distinct honor of its One Kennedy Square headquarters being certified as LEED-Silver in the Commercial Interior (CI) category by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). This is the first CI project in the City of Detroit to attain this level of certification.

Walbridge, being a full-service construction service provider, determined that going through the process to achieve LEED CI certification would better help them lead customers through the process. The renovation of the two-year-old space made use of recycled and local materials whenever possible. Efforts were made to reuse most of the office furniture and recycle construction waste or divert it from landfills. More detail about the project is available here.

Walbridge also launched a
sustainable job site program, GreenWISE, as an extension of its existing sustainability efforts. This new initiative includes requirements that surpass Environmental Protection Agency, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act regulatory and municipal guidelines.
