Join Model D and Live6 for Speak Easy: a dialogue between neighbors

Hello Readers & Residents,

Model D is thrilled to announce the first of a series of dialogues in partnership with the Live6 Alliance, Speak Easy: a dialogue between neighbors. This edition will focus on the relationship between local institutions and the surrounding communities, with topics for upcoming sessions determined by participant recommendations.

The event will open with an oral history of the neighborhood from Terrance Anderson, who is both a University of Detroit Mercy graduate and a former resident of the Fitzgerald neighborhood. There will then be a panel discussion with students and staff from both University of Detroit Mercy and Marygrove College, and residents from adjacent neighborhoods. Following the panel will be small group discussions and a collective conversation about how both parties can benefit from the community/university relationship.

We'd love for you to join us on Friday, Dec. 9th from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. for what will be a frank and productive conversation about how to build community.

Light refreshments and snacks will be provided.
