VIDEO: Kim Gamez of Mi Padrino on the challenges of juggling a business and family

On Friday, Feb. 16 this year, four Detroit entrepreneurs told their stories of business ownership at Startup Story Night. Sponsored by Model D and the New Economy Initiative, the second annual event was hosted by Satori Shakoor and her platform The Secret Society of Twisted Storytellers at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.

The first entrepreneur to take the stage was Kim Gamez, the founder and CEO of Mi Padrino, an event planning service and technology platform that helps parents and families organize, plan, and fund events celebrated in the Hispanic tradition. In her story, she spoke about the challenges that come with managing a business and family.
