$200,000 going toward the Detroit Creative Corridor Center

Detroit's Creative Corridor received a big boost in the form of a grant for $200,000. Now it just needs more and more creatives to move into the area.

The corporate leadership group Business Leaders for Michigan said Tuesday that it has received a $200,000 federal grant to help launch its Detroit Creative Corridor Center.

The center is to serve as a hub for connecting creative businesses such as advertising and media firms and Web designers with business programs and services from around the region.

The center is part of the group's Road to Renaissance Creative Economy Initiative.

Business Leaders for Michigan President and CEO Doug Rothwell said that the money will be used to help hire a director and fund the program for two to three years.
