Goodby ad agency moving downtown, Crain's reports

California advertising powerhouse Goodby, Silverstein and Partners will lease 13,500 sq. feet of office space in downtown Detroit, the first big move by an advertising firm to the Detroit area since Team Detroit came to Dearborn in 2006.

Goodby, which won the $600 million Chevrolet account, will be housed in the Francis Palms Building at 2111 Woodward Ave. The building, owned by Chuck Forbes, is also home to the Fillmore Detroit theatre.

"The idea of technology and creative companies being in Detroit is obviously something we've been targeting," said George Jackson, president and CEO of the Detroit Economic Growth Corp. "An urban center is very attractive to employees in these industries, and they're going to enjoy the amenities we have here in the city."
