This Buzz is steaming hot off the press: we just got word that those friendly Detroit ambassadors at Inside Detroit are spearheading a new campaign to bring a Guinness World Record crown to the city. Specifically, the World's Largest Group Hug. Hey, living in the D is kind of like a big group hug, anyway.
They'll try to break the record Saturday, Feb. 12 at the Motown Winter Blast downtown. If you want to be part of the love, make sure to gather around Campus Martius -- they'll need 10,000 huggers in order to break the record set in Transylvania in 2009.
Inside Detroit will be selling pins for $1 emblazoned with our new favorite slogan: "I hug strangers in the D!" You can pick one up at the Hard Rock Cafe, Cass Cafe, Vivio's, Slows Bar BQ and the Inside Detroit Downtown Welcome Center.
