Tweet of the Week

We're back from our turkey induced comas. But the Twitterverse, obviously, wasn't on vacation (so that's why we had our intern monitor our Twitter feed, ahem). Here are a few blips that landed on his radar:

Of course we had to post something about Thanksgiving. Here's @Nwnk: I survived Thanksgiving in Detroit, and I have the apple pie to prove it.

The only thing that really didn't survive Thanksgiving in Detroit were the turkeys. Get it?

But Thanksgiving was just one day. A few other things were happening. This is what @Pamperry was doing: I'm attending Java Exchange Cafe speaking on Social Media and how Detroit can KICK BUTT

You know it's serious when the tweeter uses CAPS.

@Evangineer had a little insight into the city's potential future: Given that Detroit was built on cheap & abundant oil in 20thC, shifting to cheap and abundant solar in 21stC can only make sense.

Green and cheap, we like it.

@313_lady had this to say: Sooner or later the people of Detroit are going to wake up and realize our city needs a better reputation and outlook.....

Hopefully sooner. There are a lot of people in and out of the city who already realize this.

Like @Londyjamel and her friends: some of my own friends are filling detroit's lungs with promise, with creativity, and art--we're waiting for it to hit the bloodstream.

We're glad to hear that.

Keep readying. Keep tweeting. And see you next week.
