Thousands of bicyclists roll through city streets for Tour de Troit

There were multiple "wow" moments on Saturday's 2010 Tour de Troit, says the Detroit Free Press, the ninth annual massive bicycle ride through numerous city neighborhoods. The event was organized to publicize the growing greenways network in Detroit and to raise funds for the Corktown-Mexicantown Greenlink planned for 2011.

Shehbaz Khan, 28, of Windsor, looked longingly at the waves of riders passing by the Great Lakes Cricket Conference game on Belle Isle. When he's not playing the British version of baseball at fields in on Belle Isle and in Detroit, Pontiac, Flint, Kalamazoo, Wixom and Rochester Hills, Khan said he'd like to participate in a ride like the Tour de Troit.
