Serenading true love, Detroit-style

Just in time for Valentine's Day, we found a love story set on Woodward Ave. The Detroit News' Laura Berman tells the tale of Inside Detroit's Jeanette Pierce and Richard Berensky -- a love that began on a tour of the city, engaged at the Detroit Historical Museum, and will announce itself to the world with vows at Campus Martius Park this September.

Excerpt:

That date set the tone for future "explorer Sundays," when they'd choose a route and follow it: Outer Drive from east side to west. Or Michigan Avenue to Saline. Neither had ever met anyone who seemed so perfectly suited to their quirky, historical interests or interest in off-the-beaten-track explorations. Their relationship deepened, as Inside Detroit grew.

Congratulations, Jeanette and Richard. We wish you both the kind of love that lasts through anything life throws your way -- the kind of love we have for the city. Read the rest of their story here.
