A refuge from the distracting cares and concerns we face every day, Freda Sampson's coffee house/cafe, located down the street from the Fisher Building in a converted historic home, is a sanctuary for those seeking escape. Sampson, who spent several years studying many of the country's most successful coffee houses, has combined her talents and love of art, photography and design into a coffee house where friends meet and fresh food is served at moderate prices. The front counter is lined with hot-from-the-oven, home baked cookies, and the menu overhead lists such offerings as Freda's Favorite (grilled chicken breast on spring mix salad, accompanied by cheese toast) and the must-try spinach & feta pizza. A cozy conference room upstairs is perfect for hosting meetings of 8-10, and a vast menu of sandwich, fruit, and fresh vegetable trays are ideal for casual corporate catering. Freda's motto is: "large enough to be excellent, small enough to be intimate," and after one visit you will know it to be true. Delivery is available to New Center businesses.
