Franco Public Relations Group hires 5 in downtown

Franco Public Relations Group has hired five people over the last year, expanding its staff to 17 people and two interns. Two of its more recent hires have been former interns, allowing the downtown Detroit-based company to leverage one of its favorite hiring mechanisms.

"The internships work really well to see how they fit into our company culture," says Maria Leonhauser, president of Franco Public Relations Group. "That's my favorite way of hiring."

Prompting this staff expansion is new work from both existing and new clients. The 48-year-old business has also seen an uptick in the number of smaller projects it has taken on in recent years, allowing it to keep growing and hiring.

"We intend to keep hiring," Leonhauser says. "I see us continuing the growth. I see our staff getting into the low 20s before the end of next year."

She expects Franco Public Relations Group to stay in the Renaissance Center, its long-time home. The company has called the Ren Cen home since shortly after it opened in the early 1980s.
