If your heart ever gives out after a triumphant roll at the craps table, you'll be hitching a ride to the ER with
Universal Macomb Ambulance.
The company's Detroit HQ for the last nine years has been on East Warren between Mack and Cadieux, but it's been around since 1957 and servicing the eastside in particular since 1988. They also have a spot for two trucks downtown when the casinos -- all three are clients -- come calling.
Scott Hayes, a critical care paramedic with the company, says its Detroit location has served the company well. "We've had very few problems, [especially] since the business association has gotten up and running in the last year," he says.
Macomb, along with its neighboring businesses in the
East Warren Avenue Business Association, banded together to hire a company to clean the streets twice a week and undertake enhancement activities such as streetlight painting.
