Hamtramck Round-up: Aladdin Cafe adds outdoor seating, Mars Bar open and orbiting

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

As usual, there is lots happening in Hamtramck, including the expansion of an existing eatery and the openings of a new bar (shocking, we know) and dining establishment.

Aladdin Cafe, located at 11945 Conant Ave., has expanded its formal dining room and added an outdoor seating area — room for an additional 100 diners.

Aladdin is open from 11:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Call 313-891-8050.

Mars Bar, a “sci-fi lounge,” has opened at 10001 Jos Campau at Yemans, in a space that sat empty for two years since the fire that claimed Salvador Deli. The bar is open seven days a week with no cover unless there is a special event. Call 313-974-6575.

Thirdly, a Middle Eastern restaurant, Sultan Cafe, opened in the space formerly occupied by Bengal Masala. It is at 9335 Conant just north of Holbrook. Call 313-875-9999.
