Hamtramck Round-up: Aladdin Cafe adds outdoor seating, Mars Bar open and orbiting

As usual, there is lots happening in Hamtramck, including the expansion of an existing eatery and the openings of a new bar (shocking, we know) and dining establishment.

Aladdin Cafe, located at 11945 Conant Ave., has expanded its formal dining room and added an outdoor seating area -- room for an additional 100 diners.

Aladdin is open from 11:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Call 313-891-8050.

Mars Bar, a "sci-fi lounge," has opened at 10001 Jos Campau at Yemans, in a space that sat empty for two years since the fire that claimed Salvador Deli. The bar is open seven days a week with no cover unless there is a special event. Call 313-974-6575.

Thirdly, a Middle Eastern restaurant, Sultan Cafe, opened in the space formerly occupied by Bengal Masala. It is at 9335 Conant just north of Holbrook. Call 313-875-9999.
