The Detroit Experience Series kicks off with "Green Detroit" tour on April 25

On March 13, our friends at the Detroit Experience Factory (DXF) celebrated the grand opening of a new welcome center at 123 Monroe St. in downtown Detroit. DXF grew out of D:Hive, a three-year project designed to grow and keep talent in Detroit. With the end of the D:Hive, DXF will continue to provide tours and introduce people to new Detroit experience.

In conjunction with the launch of DXF and in celebration of our forthcoming 10th anniversary, Model D and Detroit Experience Factory are excited to bring you the Detroit Experience Series, a way to help get readers visit the neighborhoods, small businesses, and people they read about in Model D.

"Model D has told the stories of the people, places and projects that are the heart and soul of Detroit for almost a decade. We’re excited to bring those amazing narratives to life through interactive experiences that will help connect people with their own city," says Jeanette Pierce, executive director of the Detroit Experience Factory.

Experiences will occur on the fourth Saturday of each month and will cover a variety of topics and neighborhoods. Register today for the first tour of this series, "Green Detroit," happening Saturday, April 25. Click here for details.

Follow Model D in the coming weeks for future tour announcements.
