First up: a decision, in the next 30 days or so, on whether to renovate the Joe Louis Arena or build a new arena for the Detroit Red Wings hockey team, which Ilitch also owns. A renovated Joe could include a wall of glass windows overlooking the Detroit River, Ilitch told me in an interview Thursday at Comerica Park.
