Detroit streetwear line expands with new storefront on the Avenue of Fashion

The Three Thirteen is expanding.

Fashion entrepreneur Clement "Fame" Brown Jr. is opening a second location for his Three Thirteen streetwear brand. And, appropriately enough, the new storefront is located on Detroit's Avenue of Fashion, that famous stretch of Livernois Avenue between 7 Mile and 8 Mile roads.

A grand opening party is scheduled for Wednesday, March 13, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. There will be complimentary food from Yoshi Hibachi and D&D Cuisine. DJ sets will include DJ LOS, DJBJ 3525, Nick Speed, and more. Look for sales and discounts, as well.

Brown's stores carry his own Three Thirteen line as well as a host of local brands that include Detroit Hustles Harder, Detroit Vs. Everybody, and more. Three Thirteen also carries select national brands.

At 2,200 square feet, the new storefront is bigger than the original location and will also serve as a special events destination. The building has been renovated and remodeled, inside and out.

"Opening our new store on Detroit's Historic Avenue of Fashion is monumental to us because we're able to participate in the city's growth," Brown says.

"The footprint not only represents inclusion, but it also validates that small businesses can have a big impact when given the resources and opportunities to be successful."

March 13 is a special day for Brown. It was only the year previous when Brown celebrated the grand re-opening of his original Jefferson Avenue storefront. The store had suffered a smash-and-grab robbery that forced its closing for 90 days before re-opening last year.

The new Three Thirteen storefront is located at 19495 Livernois Ave. in Detroit. The original location remains at 2642 E. Jefferson Ave. in the city's old Warehouse District.
