Lucky’s to open second pub in the city on E. Jefferson at Chene

Lucky’s Pub & Grille will open its second location in the city of Detroit during the first week of October. Located at 2690 E. Jefferson at Chene, the 12,000-square-foot bar and restaurant will seat 500 and has parking for 300 vehicles. The parking and location drew owner Wally Mona to the spot after having searched the corridor for five years. “It’s like downtown, but with a parking lot,” he says.

Mona describes Lucky’s as a “mammoth sports bar” with 75 TVs, two half-court basketball courts, pool tables and video games. Every possible television package has been purchased so that even more obscure sports (soccer, anyone?) can be broadcast, and a chef has been brought on board to broaden the menu from mere pub grub into more expansive territory.

Mona says the success of his first location on Grand River at Telegraph is enabling him to expand. “The city’s embraced us,” he says.
