Mercury Bar to open in Corktown

Located across from the Central Depot in historic Corktown, and named after the MercuryTrain Line that was once operational in the 1950’s, the Mercury Bar, “is slated to be open around late September,” says its owner, John Lopez.  His landlords, Bryan Brincat and Joe Mifsud from J & B Development, had initially gutted the building down and built two new lofts on the second level - one of which Lopez currently rents.

In terms of the layout, the street level is to feature a coffee and wine bar that serves light food and refreshments, while the basement level is to become the wine cellar and store.

Lopez, a part-owner of Atlas Global Bistro in the heart of Downtown, is also involved with the European-style Café, Twingo’s, in Midtown.
