The event is free, however this month we ask that you bring a canned good or donation for Gleaner's Community Food Bank. It is the season of giving, after all.

The topic is building businesses that keep the young and the restless put in metro Detroit.

Just added to the lineup is Randal Charlton, chairman and founder of Asterand, and director of Wayne State University’s TechTown business incubator.

Also speaking are:
Brian Balasia, founder of Digerati Solutions -- a fast-growing Detroit-based tech company that builds electronic medical records for hospitals and private practices.
Ross Sanders of Bizdom U -- a business incubator started by Dan Gilbert.

The event is at the Russell Industrial Center, 1600 Clay, in the Motor City Movie House. Find the door marked 1604 Clay, and the elevator operator will take you to the 5th floor. Sign in is at 5 p.m. Presentations start at 5:30. Networking and a reception will follow the hour-long presentation.

The event is sponsored by the Michigan State Housing Development Authority and Model D, and is graciously being hosted by the Boydell Group and the Russell Industrial Center.

And also a big thanks to the good people at Paxahau, who are handling the sound.
