This month’s speaker series takes on a hot topic: the foreclosure crisis.

We talk to Detroiters getting creative and bold in the face of a mortgage crisis as part of our Model D Speaker Series. Local public radio station WDET 101.9 FM will join us to moderate the conversation, in conjunction with their “Facing the Mortgage Crisis” ongoing series, which started this week.

The speakers will include:

  • Joy Santiago, a Detroit Realtor who has been featured on HGTV programs.
  • Kim Ross-Clayson, president of The Villages CDC, a community development group that serves several East Side neighborhoods.
  • Luther Keith, executive director of ARISE Detroit!, a coalition of nonprofits, many of which are helping individuals and communities deal with foreclosure and neighborhood preservation.
  • James Hamilton, president of the Historic Boston-Edison Association.

Sign in is at 5 p.m., the hour-long program begins at 5:30 p.m., and networking time will follow.

The Model D Speaker Series is sponsored by the Michigan State Housing Development Authority.
