Carlos “Los” Santonio is a musician, a born musician who happens to work in film.

“I was always involved in music, either as a musical director or helping people finish projects in a shooting lot,” Santonio says. “I have done film soundtracks and music for plays and music labels.”

The Detroit-native recently moved back to the Motor City from New York, and set up his company, Santonio Films, in the Russell Industrial Center. He has five people on his team right now and he’s looking for summer interns. They work on all sorts of music, such as neo-soul or hip-hop.

“We can do any sort of music needed,” Santonio says. He expects to expand his team by another 5-7 people over the next year, using the 1,600 square feet at the Russell Industrial Center as his base.
