Hotter than July? You bet. Marvin Shaouni was there, camera blazing

Model D photographer Marvin Shaouni spent eight hours on one of the steamiest days on record getting shot after shot of people attending Hotter Than July, a celebration of Detroit's LGBT community of color that takes place each year at Palmer Park.

After watching the grills fire up with food, and models "vogueing" it up before a scorching dance-off emceed by Innocence Rodeo Milliown, he came back with hundreds of pictures and memories of what he called "the most welcoming group of people" he's met in a long time. How cool is that? Enjoy the show.
