TechTown launches web-based athlete grade-tracker, employs 6

Another company has joined the TechTown nest. GradeCheck is a web-based application designed to help collegiate student-athletes track their academcic requirements -- and whether or not they are meeting them. The start-up has registered 350 subscribers and employs six.

"The requirements the NCAA puts out change every year, and they're complicated," says Howard Bell. "Parents and students don't have time to keep up with that. GradeCheck allows student to sign up, put their transcript into a secure page, put in test scores, and our system will come back and tell you whether you are currently meeting the requirements," he says.
