Wayne State, Beaumont work to retrain surgeons returning from war

Beaumont Hospitals and Wayne State University will collaborate on a $240,000 grant to help retrain surgeons coming back from military duty on the newest technology and knowledge.

The money will help update returning surgeons' skills and train new surgeons about to head out for active duty.

Both Beaumont and Wayne State will utilize their state-of-the-art training centers and equipment to facilitate this research and help retrain the surgeons.

Department of Defense's Telemedicine and Advanced Technologies Research Center provided the grant.
