Just in time for the Auto Show, Detroit Fish Market at Paradise Valley has opened its doors in the space formerly occupied by Intermezzo.

The 7,200-square-foot restaurant seats up to 170 people in several different spaces, including an area of private booths and a lounge/bar area. A major design element is a 60-by-8-foot mural of a swordfish that changes color every 15 minutes. The space was designed by
David Barczys of Brimingham-based Niagara Murano.

Owner Frank Taylor -- who owns or operates several other Detroit restaurants including
South Beach Pizza Bar, Seldom Blues and the Detroit Breakfast House and Grill -- has experience in the seafood arena from his Pennsylvania restaurant, the Pittsburgh Fish Market.

Detroit Fish Market menu items are priced below $30 and include Atlantic Salmon, Whitefish, Pacific Cod, Chilean Sea Bass and Mahi Mahi that can each be prepared in one of four signature methods.

The restaurant is open Monday through Thursday 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. The raw bar is open until 2 a.m. daily except for Sundays when it is open from noon to 10 pm. Detroit Fish Market is located at 1435 Randolph Street.
