Detroit visitors to vote for hospitality awards

Excerpts from the article:

Metro Detroit is known for sports, cars and music, and 2006 is a banner year for the tourism and hospitality industry as Super Bowl XL headlines a list of marquee sports events and conventions. This winter, the Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau (DMCVB) will add to the excitement and success of coming events by inviting the local residents and out-of-town visitors to participate in the nomination and judging of its annual service awards program and encourage even greater hospitality in the coming months.

In the spirit of "American Idol," local residents and visitors will be able to vote for their favorite hospitality superstars. Nominations can be submitted in several ways: online, ballots at participating locations, by mail and Visit Detroit Magazine, and a toll free number.

Once all the nominations are in, the judges will narrow the field in each of seven categories: Airlines, Attractions, Behind the Scenes, Ground Transportation, Hotels, Law Enforcement, and Restaurants.
