The Detroit Department of Transportation is touting cutting-edge
technology in 50 new buses that are now in service.
The buses are
the first of 96 that will eventually hit Detroit streets in 2011.
Features
of the new buses include foldout ramps, one-step entrances, bike racks
and new onboard fire safety measures.
The buses also have
energy-efficient LED interior and exterior lighting systems.
