The Detroit Downtown Development Authority on Wednesday approved a $3 million, 10-year loan for the project, to be funded when construction is complete in about 15 to 18 months, said Brian Holdwick, vice president of business development for the Detroit Economic Growth Corp., which staffs the DDA.
Holdwick said Sterling Group has already invested more than $14 million in renovations at the Guardian Building, where occupancy has risen from 10 percent to 45 percent since 2003.
