Excerpts from the article:
You don't have to be a football fan to have fun in Detroit this February.
The city, host to Super Bowl XL on Sunday, Feb. 5, is throwing a big party to celebrate. And you don't have to score tickets to the game to land a spot on the invite list.
The festivities -- dubbed Motown Winter Blast -- run Thursday, Feb. 2, through game day. Most of the fun takes place over several blocks of downtown Detroit, south of Ford Field.
The Taste of Detroit, featuring food from 40 local restaurants, and Detroit Marketplace, featuring the works of artists and vendors in a huge, heated tent.
Football fans might want to pay a visit to nearby Cobo Hall, where the NFL Experience will set up shop from Wednesday, Feb. 1, through Sunday, Feb. 5. The event will feature more than 50 interactive games and attractions, as well as autograph sessions, card shows, youth clinics and more.
