Gyro Creative grows, diversifies in downtown, plans to hire

Gyro Creative got its start a decade ago with a few projects here and there, based in the automotive and manufacturing sectors. "Since then we have become more account focused and been able to get away from an automotive focus," says Angela Topacio, principal of Gyro Creative. "We have been able to develop some interesting products."

Topacio and her husband Matthew DiDio are the principals of the branding and design firm today. It employs a dozen people full-time, one more person part-time and the occasional summer intern.

Gyro Creative recently hired an industrial and graphic designer. It hopes to hire a few more people in the future, such as a high-level branding strategist, a programmer and a designer, as the economy allows. Right now Topacio and DiDio, Woodbridge residents, are trying to steer the firm more toward branding. "But we have to be careful about doing it," Topacio says.
