Ceasars Windsor adds some flash to the riverfront

True, it's not Detroit, but the new Ceasars Windsor Casino is now the most prominent building in view when looking south to Windsor from the RiverWalk.

The casino gaming area has been completely renovated and a hotel tower, an entertainment center and convention space and four new restaurants and two bars have been added.

The Caesars theme is carried throughout the 100,000-square-foot gaming floor on two levels with more than 90 table games, 2,600 slot machines and sports wagering. A Rotunda, billed as the hub of the facility, is a six-story space with skylights, murals, sculptures and fountains.

A new 369-room 22-story hotel tower, the Augustus, adds to the existing 389-room hotel.

There is also a multi-functional 5,000-seat entertainment venue that transforms into an exhibition hall with 39,500 square feet of column-free space. There is also 26,000 square feet of meeting space that can be separated into four sections with soundproof dividers.

As for bars, there is the Cosmos Lounge and the VU, which has an outdoor balcony with views of Detroit. Legends Sports Bar offers 36 video screens for watching -- and betting -- on sports. Might just merit a trip on the Tunnel Bus, eh?
