CYJ Enterprises shifts product focus to garner more growth in TechTown

About a year ago, CYJ Enterprises began marketing its principal product to schools as a way to maintain easy access to emergency information. Today the 5-year-old company is moving to the same product to a new target, adult care centers.

The TechTown-based start-up sees a bluer ocean of customers in that area. It cites how seniors make up 30 percent of the population compared to 10 percent of children as a primary reason for the switch.

"The senior citizen segment of the population is growing so fast," says Carole Johnson, CEO of CYJ Enterprises.

CYJ Enterprises principal product is e-CYREN, an online database of emergency information. It was originally designed to replace antiquated, 20th Century-style filing systems for schools and daycare programs. Adult care has many similar needs and systems.

"Our revenues should be increasing dramatically," Johnson says.

And its staff, too. CYJ Enterprises is made up of Johnson and a consultant. She expects to hire five more people over the next year.
