Honest John's

488 Selden
Corner of 2nd and Selden

313-832-5646

Honest? John’s is a Detroit landmark and has occupied a few locations in Detroit over the years.  Going on 3 years now in their current location on Selden, the food is good and the company is even better.

Owner and founder John Thompson is known for his great personality and is also founder of the one of the city’s more unusual charity organizations:  Honest?John's Shakedown Society, which hosts all kinds of outrageous and irreverent Detroit events such as the annual Easter Bunny Roast, the "moonshot" and a mid-winter swim in the Detroit River.

Thompson is known for being both personable and charitable and has helped raise more than $750,000 for local charities over the years.

The menu at Honest? John’s is straightforward (great burgers!) and the booths are oversized.  There’s even an outdoor patio area for outdoor dining and drinking during the warmer months of the year.
