North Rosedale Park
Bounded by McNichols, Southfield, Grand River and Evergreen
313-837-3416
North Rosedale Park, an historic Detroit neighborhood of 1694 homes, is bounded by McNichols on the north, Southfield on the east, Grand River on the south and Evergreen to the west. Homeowners in this area are represented by the North Rosedale Park Civic Association (NRPCA).
NRPCA “exists to promote the interests and welfare of all residents of the community." The Tattler is North Rosedale Park's neighborhood newspaper. Delivered free of charge to every household and business in the Park every month, The Tattler has been published continuously for 75 years. The NRPCA also maintains an outstanding web site, www.northrosedalepark.org, which provides complete information about a wide array of programs and resources available through their organization.
The North Rosedale Park Community House, located at 18445 Scarsdale, is the focal point of activities in North Rosedale Park. It is used on a daily basis by the Civic Association and such groups as the Boy Scouts and Park Players.
The six-acre park surrounding the Community House has a playground, a baseball diamond and three soccer fields. Year round, hundreds of people take advantage of the Park's safe and beautiful environment for walking and jogging. In winter, the two soccer fields are flooded for ice skating. This is the largest privately-owned park in Detroit.
The building and surrounding park are owned by the members of the NRPCA. Maintenance and improvement of the grounds are paid through Civic Association dues and fees from rental of the Community House.
