After 5 Detroit's growth plans include adding a couple more to staff

When Kerry Doman moved back to Detroit from Chicago a couple years ago, she saw the need to connect people with the events that spoke to the urban lifestyle they craved. So she founded the After 5 Detroit web site.

The web site started out as a way to satisfy a need and is now a full-time business with five employees, two of which are full-time. Doman expects to hire a couple more people within the next year or two as the website continues to grow.

"We're always looking to grow," Doman says. "We're two years old and we have grown from just me to a team of people."

The web site lists bars and restaurants, plus nightlife photos. It all shows off everything there is to do here outside of work.

"There are a lot of young people that do live here and who are deciding whether to stay or leave," Doman says. "Our job is to show that there is a lifestyle here that is conducive to what they want."
