Marathon plans a $10 billion expansion of its Southwest Detroit refinery that would add 900 positions to the facility.
Excerpts:
If the project is approved the refinery will create about 135 new
jobs on top of an average of 800 construction jobs throughout the
three-year period,” said Angelia Graves, a spokeswoman for Marathon.
“We hope to get approval by the fourth quarter of this year and
construction could start by the end of the year or early next year.”
There is a public meeting set for tonight from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at St.
Andrew & Benedict Church, 2450 S. Beatrice St.
