Bean Bar takes over former Blend space near Cobo

Together they serve fresh pastries, espresso
drinks, teas and smoothies in a shop formerly called the Blend. They
added flat screen television sets, new furniture and dramatic art by
their friend, John Karabetsos, to the store. Coffee Express Co. in
Plymouth helped identify used espresso machines and supplies beans and
beverages.
“Our best dreams came true,” Gatzaros said, noting
that one week after their opening the Society of Automotive Engineers
held its World Congress in Detroit, bringing droves of international
patrons to the new shop. “The Italians said they really love our
coffee.”
