Wow, here's a nice surprise as we jump into the fourth quarter of the calendar year: Issue Media Group, which publishes Model D, metromode, Concentrate and over a dozen other web-based publications in the U.S. and Canada, ranks 1,672 out of 5,000 of the country's fastest growing companies. The group's three-year sales growth is a whopping 170 percent.

The 2010 Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2006 to 2009. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by June 30, 2006. Additionally, they had to be based in the United States, privately held, for profit, and independent (not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies) as of Dec. 31, 2009.
