Kraemer Design Group adds 10 people to staff in 2011

Kraemer Design Group has a goal for its staff. The downtown Detroit-based architecture firm plans to grow its staff to 30 people by 2013. The firm is already at 23 people and expects to keep hiring at an accelerated pace this year.

"My gut feeling is we will reach our goal by the end of this summer," says Bob Kraemer, principal of Kraemer Design Group.

Kraemer Design Group
hired 11 people in 2011, nearly doubling its staff. One more person is starting this month and an offer to another potential new hire has been extended.

Propelling that growth has been the continued redevelopment of downtown Detroit's historic building stock. Kraemer Design Group is hndling some of the design work for the redevelopment of the David Whitney Building and is part of a number of other projects along the Woodward corridor. The company has also seen an increase in design work for the hospitality industry.

"The last two years have been record years for us," Kraemer says. "We're continuing to see the growth."
