The Eastern Market Corp.
has recruited Dan Carmody to helm the organization. The organization is
undertaking the renovation of Shed 2 and is working to make the
neighborhood attractive to residents and retailers alike.

Carmody, who has more than 20 years of economic development and urban
planning experience, currently is president of the Downtown Improvement
District of Fort Wayne, Ind.
Before that, he spent 18 years the Rock Island Economic Growth Corp. and Development Association in Rock Island, Ill.

has proven experience with leading community redevelopment initiatives
