What to do with Tiger Stadium? Detroiters have some ideas (via social media)

The city is asking for some ideas on what to do with the giant field on the corner of Michigan and Trumbull, formerly known as Tiger Stadium. (Read the article here.)

So, we decided to hit social media and ask what you all would do with the space. Here are some Detroiters, or at least interested parties, and their ideas.

From our Model D Facebook page:

Shawn C.: There should only be one thing there. A restored Navin Field and then renamed Harwell Field. Period.

Dan A.: Doesn't really matter what anyone WANTS to see here.. what we WILL see sooner than later is a beauty supply store, Church's Chicken, Wallgreens, and half-vacant strip mall. Mark my words.

Judith B.: Water Works Park!

Lydia M.: A community ball field.

From Twitter:

@g_j_clark: How about a great #mlb park with irreplaceable history and better sightlines than we have now?

@streetculture: soccer or ampitheater

@bryanFenster: Let's put #DETROIT music back on the map. Recording studios, music/instrument shops. Also, photography studios, & outdoor marktets
